Rupee trades lower against greenback

The Indian rupee was trading lower against its US counterpart in early trade on Monday following increased demand for the American currency from importers and banks. At the Interbank Foreign Exchange Market, the partially convertible currency was trading down by 13 paise at 67.19 per dollar. The rupee was also pegged back by strength in the greenback against some other currencies overseas as a top Fed official backed the case for a US interest rate hike soon.
