Iron ore mining to pick up pace after monsoon: Goa CM

The Goa Government has said that the iron ore mining in Goa will pick up pace after monsoons. Commenting on the issue, Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar told the media, "The mining business in the state has resumed after a gap of three and half years. After the monsoon season it will pick up the pace and will start with full force." "It would not be wrong if we say mining is a financial artery of the state. We faced the challenged but government meticulously worked out to support the people who were affected with the temporary ban," he added. The Minister further added that a total Rs 163 crore were spent on schemes providing financial help to the people who received setback due to the stoppage of mining activity.
