Hyundai posts 10.7% growth in July sales

Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL), which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Hyundai Motor Company in India, on Monday reported that its total sales for the month of July 2016 climbed by 10.7 per cent from the same month a year ago led by strong performance from the Grand i10, Elite i20 and Creta.
The company sold 55,807 units in July 2016, compared to 50,411 units in the year ago month, HMIL said in a statement, according to media reports.
Sales in India climbed by an impressive 12.87 per cent to 41,201 units in July 2016 from 36,503 units in the same month a year ago as demand for cars in Asia’s third biggest economy was buoyed by a better-than-expected monsoon, falling interest rates and cheaper fuel prices.
The company exported 14,606 units in July 2016, up by 5 per cent from 13,908 units in the same month a year ago, despite a challenging global market outlook amidst concerns over a slowdown in China and post Brexit verdict jitters.
